Time Series Graphs
Time Series analysis is the basic type of analysis you’re used to seeing with tools such as MRTG and nfsen. These graphs allow you to view the traffic on your network as a function of time - Psyche uses this standard time series approach on its dashboard view to show bandwidth utilization.

Stacked Bar Graphs
Stacked bar graphs are effective at showing traffic trends over time, but they also enable an analyst to easily see types of traffic in relation to one another and to the whole. For example, Psyche’s Top Talkers page enables you to view the top X talkers (i.e., by port or address) over specific time ranges. Using the stacked bar graph approach, you can quickly see which ports or hosts talked the most over the entire interval, but you can also see each talker’s proportion to the whole and to the other talkers on a per bar basis.

Histograms
The histogram analysis page is a way of viewing network traffic as a function of the ratio of bytes received vs. bytes sent. Typically, most of the hosts on your network will be grouped in one place on the graph. For instance, on a network of workstations, port 80 traffic should be heavily weighted towards inbound bytes. Therefore, when you see hosts that are weighted towards outbound, you’ll likely want to investigate.
