Time Series

Time Series analysis is the basic type of analysis you're used to seeing with tools such as MRTG and nfsen. These graphs allow you to view the traffic on your network as a function of time. They also allow you to control many parameters of the graph including networks, ports, and time ranges.

Histograms

The Histogram analysis pages are a way of viewing network traffic as a function of various values such as bytes sen t/received, packets sent/received, # of hosts communicated with, and the ratio of bytes in vs bytes out. Most of the hosts on your network will probably be grouped in one place in the graph. For instance, on a network of workstations, the port 80 traffic will be heavily weighted towards inbound. However, you may have a few hosts that are weighted to wards outbound. These hosts may be worth investigating.

Hosts Map

The host map page is a way to quickly find the top X hosts on your network as a function of bytes, hosts talked to, packets, etc. This page is a way to quickly find the hot points on your network without having to dig through graphs to get there.
